The MGAP 2010 Garden Tour

The Walled Garden.


Push open the gate, remove your wrist-watch,
Put it into your pocket,
you have no need for it here.
This is a journey through a season not a time.
Let the scents be your guide and
let colour be your cheer-leader.
When you feel tired we can rest in the arbour
over near the far wall;
Where the damask roses grow;
their soft velvet petals,
form a red carpet on the ground.
That is the seat that you will sit on while I go to brew and fetch the tea.
then:
I will tell you of my joy and a little bit of sorrow, and how sometimes I am at sea.
But that this place is my haven, I have a strong anchor
and within this safe harbour,
happy I can be.
